Short Biography

Oliver Orton is IFC's Program Manager for its Corporate Governance Program in South-East Europe. The Program covers Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.

Oliver is an English-qualified corporate/finance lawyer who has spent 9 years in London and Paris with international law firms and emerging market private equity firms advising companies in Europe, Latin America and Africa, in a variety of industry sectors, on raising debt and equity finance and on corporate restructuring.

He also spent 4 years working on business environment, privatization and corporate governance, and restructuring in the Balkans, based in Pristina, Kosovo. He then spent 2 years in Asia, where he advised companies throughout the region seeking to raise finance/investment from international financial and commercial institutions, also advising companies on how to best restructure their governance mechanisms. Oliver holds a BA and MA in Law from Cambridge University (UK).
