Short Biography

Prof. Dejan Gjorgjevikj was born on 9.XII 1967 in Skopje. He has graduated at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje in 1992. He obtained his MSc and PhD degree at the same university in 1997 and 2004.

In the period from 1.IX 1992 to 21.IX 2004 he worked as a research associate, junior assistant and assistant at the Institute of Computer Science and Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Skopje. During this time he participated in the preparation and conducting of auditory and laboratory exercises on the subjects: programming languages, application software and computer graphics. On 22. IX in 2004 he was elected assistant professor, and on 01. VII 2009 for an associate professor in the area of computer technology and informatics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in Skopje. As a lecturer he was involved in the implementation and teaching of many subjects at first and second cycle of studies. During this period, he realized several study stays at universities in Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Great Britain. He has participated in over ten international and domestic projects.

He has published over 50 scientific papers in international conferences and journals. He is a member of IEEE since 1991 and the ACM since 1997. In the period from 1999 to 2006 he served as adviser to the IEEE student branch in Macedonia and was also a member of the Executive Board of the Macedonian section of the IEEE. He is currently president of the computer chapter of the Republic of Macedonia IEEE section. He is a member of the Board of the ETAI association whose member was since 1993. He was a member of the program committees of several national and international conferences. His research focus areas are: pattern recognition, machine learning and software engineering.

Excellence in English and Serbo-Croatian, and some knowledge of German and Bulgarian.
