opening

For the first time in our country the Conference welcomed 100 participants from 15 countries in the region, all gathered to discuss ideas and exchange opinions about ICT can improve the work of the public institutions.

The directors of the Conference co-hosts, Vasko Kronevski and Blaz Golob opened the Conference and saluted the guests.

“We are gathered here to debate how we can work on the enhancement and the progress of the regional democracy. We have many successful examples in Macedonia about solutions developed by our company Nextsense and implemented in the public institutions.” – said Vasko Kronevski, Nextsense CEO at the opening of the e-Democracy Conference.

“Macedonia is a country whose positive experiences about the e-government solutions in the public institutions can be used as a very good example” – said Blaz Golob, director of CeGD at the Conference opening.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Trajko Veljanoski and the Minister of Information Society Ivo Ivanovski, were also present at the Conference opening.

“The introduction of the e-Parliament solution in the Macedonian Assembly is very important for greater efficiency, transparency and interaction with the citizens… That’s the essence of democracy”- said Trajko Veljanoski, president of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. “The fact that our Assembly’s web page is the most used media by the citizens to obtain information about the Assembly speaks about the major success of the e-Parliament project”.

“At the Conference where ICT is presented as a driver for the development of a democratic and inclusive society, participants from 15 countries will be introduced with the projects that Macedonia has made in order to improve democracy and increase transparency.”- said Mr. Ivo Ivanovski, Minister for Information Society in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. He mentioned that the government’s priority will be to introduce even more electronic services for the citizens that will improve the democracy in the country.
